Thank you for contributing to the scholarly community by peer-reviewing manuscripts for YUESHENG Press. Your expertise ensures the quality, rigor, and integrity of our publications. Below are guidelines to assist you in the review process.
1. Role of Reviewers
Reviewers play a critical role in:
1.1 Evaluating the originality, validity, and significance of submissions.
1.2 Providing constructive feedback to improve manuscripts.
1.3 Ensuring adherence to ethical standards and disciplinary rigor.
2. Eligibility
2.1 Reviewers must hold a PhD or equivalent expertise in the manuscript’s field.
2.2 Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest (e.g., personal, financial, or professional ties to authors) before accepting a review invitation.
3. Review Process
3.1 Before Accepting
3.1.1 Confirm availability to complete the review within the requested timeframe (typically 2–3 weeks).
3.1.1 Decline if unqualified, conflicted, or unable to meet deadlines.
3.2 During Review
3.2.1 Maintain confidentiality: Do not share or discuss the manuscript with others.
3.2.2 Conduct an objective, unbiased evaluation focusing on:
(1) Originality: Is the work novel and relevant to the field?
(2) Methodology: Are methods appropriate, reproducible, and well described?
(3) Results: Are findings clearly presented and supported by data?
(4) Conclusions: Do conclusions align with the evidence?
(5) Ethics: Does the work comply with ethical guidelines (e.g., human/animal research, data integrity)?
Use the journal’s structured review form (if provided) or prepare a detailed report with:
A summary of the work.
Major strengths and weaknesses.
Specific recommendations for revision (if applicable).
3.2.3 A clear recommendation:
(1) Accept (no revisions needed).
(2) Minor Revisions (accept after addressing specific concerns).
(3) Major Revisions (re-review required after substantial changes).
(4) Reject (fundamental flaws or irrelevance to the journal’s scope).
Post-Review
Submit your review via the journal’s online submission system.
If the manuscript is revised and resubmitted, you may be invited to re-evaluate the changes.
4. Ethical Responsibilities
4.1 Confidentiality: Do not disclose any details of the manuscript or your review to third parties.
4.2 Avoid Bias: Base judgments solely on academic merit. Do not discriminate based on nationality, gender, or institutional affiliation.
4.3 Plagiarism Detection: Alert the editor if you suspect plagiarism, data fabrication, or duplicate publication.
4.4 Timeliness: Notify the editor immediately if you require an extension.
5. Recognition for Reviewers
5.1 Annual Reviewer Certificate: Recognizes outstanding contributions.
5.2 Discounts on APCs: For reviewers who submit their own work to YUESHENG Press journals.
5.3 Editorial Board Consideration: Exceptional reviewers may be invited to join journal editorial boards.
